Cordia Resources is seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Payroll Accountant. This role will manage payroll processing for approximately 300 employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. In addition to payroll processing, the Payroll Accountant will oversee payroll-related general ledger reconciliations, support payroll audits, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain strong internal controls.
Experience with UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) and/or the construction industry is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities
Process biweekly payroll for ~300 employees with accuracy and confidentiality
Maintain payroll records, employee data, and system updates
Prepare and perform payroll‑related general ledger reconciliations
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Respond to payroll inquiries and resolve issues promptly
Prepare payroll journal entries and support month-end close activities
Assist with annual audits by providing payroll documentation and support
Collaborate with HR and accounting to ensure consistent, compliant payroll operations
Support process improvements and system enhancements related to payroll
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
3+ years of payroll and accounting experience
Strong understanding of payroll processes and general ledger reconciliations
UKG experience strongly preferred
Construction industry experience a plus
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large data sets
