Cordia Resources is seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Accounting Manager to lead all accounting and financial operations for our growing construction company. This is an individual contributor role—you will serve as the sole person in accounting, owning the full cycle of financial management and reporting for the organization. The ideal candidate has construction industry experience, is proficient in QuickBooks, and thrives in an environment where they can take full ownership of accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities Financial Management
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Maintain general ledger and ensure accuracy of all financial data
Oversee cash flow, reconciliations, and month-end close
Construction Accounting
Manage job cost accounting, including budget vs. actual tracking
Handle project accounting, contract tracking, and cost allocations
Process AIA billing and all construction-related invoicing
Accounts Payable & Receivable
Manage AP, including subcontractor invoices and vendor payments
Manage AR, including progress billing and collections
Maintain lien releases, COIs, and subcontractor compliance
Payroll & Compliance
Process certified payroll for approximately 28 employees
Ensure compliance with prevailing wage laws and reporting requirements
Systems & Processes
Utilize QuickBooks for all accounting operations
Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Qualifications
5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in construction
Proficiency in QuickBooks required
Strong understanding of job costing, project accounting, and AIA billing
Experience processing certified payroll
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (but not required)
