Senior Payroll Specialist
Falls Church, VACherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking a detail‑oriented and experienced Senior Payroll Specialist. This role is responsible for the end‑to‑end processing of weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has strong experience performing payroll audits, resolving discrepancies, and processing corrections and retroactive payments.
Workday payroll experience is strongly preferred.

Workday payroll experience is strongly preferred.
- Process accurate and timely weekly payroll for all employees.
- Perform regular payroll audits to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Manage and process corrections, adjustments, and retroactive pay calculations.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
- Maintain and update employee payroll information within Workday (or other payroll systems).
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and managers to resolve payroll-related inquiries.
- Support payroll reporting, reconciliations, and year-end activities as needed.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.
- 5+ years of hands‑on payroll processing experience (weekly payroll preferred).
- Strong working knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance.
- Workday Payroll experience highly preferred; other enterprise payroll system experience considered.
- Proven ability to calculate retro pay and reconcile complex payroll discrepancies.
- High level of accuracy, initiative, and attention to detail.
- Strong Excel skills and ability to work with large data sets.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- CPP certification is a plus, but not required.
