This is a hands‑on leadership opportunity within an entrepreneurial, well‑capitalized organization that builds, acquires, and manages commercial properties across the Houston market. The firm currently has foundational accounting support in place and is at a clear inflection point where a rising leader is needed to take ownership of the function and scale it alongside continued deal activity.

Key Responsibilities
- Own monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
- Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules
- Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations and manage the Bookkeeper
- Handle property‑level accounting, including CAM reconciliations
- Partner with banks and lenders on debt reporting, covenants, and compliance
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Establish and improve accounting processes as the business grows
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to leadership while remaining hands‑on initially
- CPA required
- 6–12+ of experience (Commercial Real Estate experience highly preferred)
- Mix of public and private experience preferred (straight public audit also considered)
- Commercial real estate experience strongly preferred; real estate‑adjacent industries acceptable
- MRI experience is a plus
- Comfortable in small, fast‑growing environments (10–50 employee companies)
- High‑visibility role with ownership of the full accounting function
