Senior Accounting & Finance Advisory Consultant
(Project‑Based – Remote)
Pay Range: $90–$125/hour, depending on background

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accounting and Finance Advisory Consultant to support a client engagement which will be 3-4 months at a closely held organization that requires quality financial statements in preparation for a transaction. 

This opportunity is ideal for a professional with a blend of public accounting and industry experience who enjoys hands‑on, high‑impact project work.

Engagement Includes

• Technical accounting and policy implementation projects
• Month‑end / quarter‑end close stabilization
• Audit readiness and external auditor support

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with clean‑up of balance sheet accounts, historical reconciliations, and accounting backlogs
• Research, interpret, and apply U.S. GAAP guidance; prepare technical accounting memos and documentation
• Support implementation and interpretation of complex accounting areas, specifically analyzing the proper accounting treatment for debt/equity transactions utilizing these stanards:
  • Distinguishing liabilities from equity (ASC 480)
  • Stock based compensation (ASC 718)
  • Derivatives and h edging (ASC 815)  
• Assist with preparation of footnotes, disclosures, and audit schedules
• Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors and advisors
• Audit readiness and documentation

Qualifications
Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and/or finance experience
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and core accounting principles
• Experience supporting month‑end close, financial reporting, and audits
• Ability to operate independently in ambiguous or evolving environments
• Advanced Excel skills

Preferred

• Mix of public accounting and industry experience
• CPA (active or inactive) strongly preferred
• Experience in project‑based, interim, or advisory roles
