Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support key accounting functions and the monthly close process in a complex organization. This role is responsible for performing and reviewing financial analyses, maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, and supporting financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. The Senior Accountant will also serve as a resource to accounting leadership and provide guidance to junior staff.


Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Close

  • Prepare and review complex journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Support and participate in the monthly close process
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of the general ledger
  • Review GL activity across multiple business units
Financial Analysis & Reporting
  • Perform and review account reconciliations and detailed financial analyses
  • Research and analyze accounting issues and evolving GAAP guidance
  • Prepare technical accounting documentation and memorandums
  • Develop routine and ad hoc financial reports to support management decision-making
Audit Support
  • Assist with annual audit activities, including preparation of assigned audit schedules
  • Serve as a point of contact for audit-related documentation and inquiries
Process Improvement & Operations
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to provide value-added financial information
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and support implementation efforts
  • Serve as backup support for other senior accounting functions as needed
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Lead, coach, and support 1–3 staff accountants
  • Review work product of junior team members and provide constructive feedback
  • Communicate accounting matters clearly to non-financial stakeholders

Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience)
  • CPA preferred, but not required
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end accounting process, including month-end close
  • Public accounting experience is a plus
Technical Skills
  • Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with accounting systems and ERP platforms
  • Advanced Excel skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
Professional Skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal oversight
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and collaborate effectively
