Cherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to manage and support end-to-end biweekly payroll operations in a government contracting environment. This role is responsible for accurate payroll processing, labor and cost compliance, and coordination across HR, Accounting, and Program Management. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint (labor processing) and ADP, and thrives in a complex, compliance-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Process and administer biweekly payroll for up to 1,500 active employees, recognizing that not all employees are paid each pay period
Review, validate, and process labor transactions in Deltek Costpoint, ensuring alignment with government contracting requirements
Ensure accurate payroll feeds and integrations between Costpoint and ADP
Audit timekeeping, labor distributions, and payroll data for accuracy and compliance
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, including government contract labor regulations (e.g., cost accounting standards, audit readiness)
Reconcile payroll reports, tax filings, deductions, and benefit-related payroll entries
Partner with HR, Finance, and Program Teams to resolve payroll and labor-related issues
Respond to employee payroll inquiries with a strong focus on confidentiality and customer service
Assist with audits (internal and external), including DCAA audits when applicable
Maintain payroll documentation, SOPs, and process improvements
Support year-end processes, including W-2 preparation and reconciliation
Required Qualifications
3+ years of payroll administration experience, preferably within a government contracting environment
Hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint, specifically labor processing and timekeeping
ADP payroll experience (Workforce Now or similar ADP platforms)
