Cherry Bekaert is partnering with a long-standing client on a confidential direct-hire search for a hands-on Accounting Manager to support a growing, fast-paced organization.

Location:
Fully remote; however, candidates must be located in South Florida and able to attend monthly in-person team meetings in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area. An annual out of state trip to company headquarters is required.

Compensation:
Salary targeted up to $100,000.

 Role Overview

This Accounting Manager will be responsible for executing the day-to-day accounting operations and play a hands-on role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and operational continuity. The position partners closely with the senior finance leadership and manages an offshore accounting team.  

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, reconciliations, and oversight of AP
• Serve as a hands-on partner to senior finance leadership, proactively identifying issues and driving solutions
• Supervise and collaborate with an offshore accounting team 
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and that financial operations align with revenue recognition (ASC 606) and lease accounting (ASC 842) and other applicable standards
• Oversee inventory accounting in a high-volume transactional environment
• Support process improvements and documentation to enhance efficiency and controls
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to support business initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Collaborative communication style and strong team leadership skills

• Proven accounting leadership experience
• Strong hands-on accounting background
• NetSuite ERP and strong excel experience is required
• Deep knowledge of GAAP, including familiarity with ASC 606
• Inventory management and accounting experience
• Experience reconciling ecommerce revenue
• Demonstrated initiative, ownership mindset, and ability to operate in a dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA a plus
• Experience in a multi-entity environment preferred
• E-Commerce experience preferred and familiar with platforms such as Shopify, BigCommerce, Givee, and Stripe
• Sales and use tax compliance experience preferred
• Familiarity with ASC 842 preferred
• Retail, consumer goods, and/or distribution industry experience preferred
