Cherry Bekaert Recruiting & Staffing is partnered with a government contracting firm seeking an experienced
Incurred Cost Submission (ICS) Consultant to support the preparation and filing of its FY2025 ICS.
This is an urgent, high-impact engagement driven by recent turnover within the finance team and a compressed filing timeline. The organization generates approximately $50M in annual revenue and operates within a relatively straightforward cost structure (Fringe, Overhead, and G&A), with the majority of work across Time & Materials and Fixed Price contracts.
This role is ideal for a hands-on GovCon accounting professional who can step in quickly, take ownership of the process, and deliver with minimal ramp-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end preparation and submission of the FY2025 Incurred Cost Submission
- Prepare and review required schedules, including:
- Schedules H, H-1, I, K, and supporting schedules (including Schedule O)
- Extract and validate data from Unanet to support ICS schedules and reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with FAR, DCAA, and GovCon reporting requirements
- Leverage prior year (FY2024) submission as a reference point
- Collaborate with the internal finance team and a former Accounting Manager (part-time) to gather necessary data
- Navigate limited documentation and institutional knowledge due to recent turnover
Qualifications
- Recent, hands-on experience preparing ICS filings for government contractors
- Strong knowledge of GovCon accounting and compliance requirements (FAR, DCAA)
- Proven experience with Unanet, including data extraction and reporting
- Ability to independently lead ICS efforts under tight deadlines
- Experience operating in lean or transitional environments strongly preferred
- High attention to detail with a track record of meeting critical filing deadlines
