Accounts Payable Manager

Overview:
A well-established residential property management organization is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to oversee full-cycle AP operations across a diverse portfolio of affordable housing communities. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, process-driven professional who can ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency while managing vendor relationships and supporting a high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full-cycle accounts payable process across corporate and property portfolios
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and expense allocations
- Maintain strong internal controls and adherence to company policies
- Ensure all payments and transactions comply with internal policies and industry regulations
- Maintain organized, audit-ready documentation to support year-end audits and financial reviews
- Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors and utility providers
- Resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues with professionalism and accuracy
- Evaluate and enhance AP workflows to improve efficiency, accuracy, and automation
- Leverage property management accounting systems to streamline processes
- Partner with Property Managers, Regional Managers, and leadership to support financial operations
- Assist with month-end close and ensure deadlines are met consistently
Qualifications
- 4+ years of accounts payable experience, with property management experience preferred
- Experience managing AP processes in a high-volume, multi-entity environment
- Proficiency with Yardi, RealPage, or similar property management systems
- Strong understanding of AP processes, internal controls, and accounting principles
- Effective organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
