Human Resources Specialist

JOB SUMMARY:
The HR Specialist will focus on supporting and driving the human resource functions in talent acquisition, management, and retention; oversight of payroll and other administrative services as needed to support the Human Resources Department, such as management of the local office and tenants.  Additionally, this position leads the safety committee.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Manage Full Cycle Recruiting, Payroll Administration and HR Compliance
  • Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions including working with hiring managers, negotiating offers, running job postings, completing reference checks and eligibility verifications and onboarding
  • Coordinate new hire orientation training and implementation with hiring managers
  • Work with the Senior HR Leadership to develop and implement retention programs
  • Communicate and enforce policies and procedures regarding timekeeping, paid time off accrual and requests, compensation and employee status changes, and other key functions related to payroll
  • Manage accurate and timely payroll reporting internally and externally.
  • Manage financial invoicing for HR department
  • Develop and maintain HR Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for assigned functional areas
  • Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, including safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, certifications, and all ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies such as EEO, ADA, OSHA and federal, state and local governments
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Support and coordinate employee engagement activities.
  • Provide support to the HR Department with events and communications as needed

REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of related HR experience
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of payroll and benefits administration, employment-related laws, and regulations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office product suites (especially Excel and PowerPoint) and knowledge or ability to learn other computer-based systems
