Senior Accountant Job Summary:  Work with a team of professionals in our client’s accounting group along with other business lines; responsible for conducting the financial reporting activities for company executives.  Prepare and review financial transactions and information to ensure that the accounting ledgers, financial statements, and other financial reports are complete, accurate, and in compliance with applicable regulations, accounting and reporting standards, and internal policies.
Senior Accountant Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the monthly close, ensuring books are closed timely, accurately and completely through the following activities:
    • Review and approve journal entries
    • Prepare/review account reconciliations
    • Prepare/review bank reconciliations
  • Ensure reporting to executive is provided timely, accurately, and completely
  • Prepare financial statements packages and cash distribution waterfalls
  • Create supporting schedules for footnotes and cash flow statements
  • Coordinate with other departments to resolve questions on financial statements
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of contracts and agreements by preparing abstracts summarizing key financial impacts
  • Participate in annual audits including, but not limited to, preparing schedules for auditors and preparing adjusting journal entries.
  • Contribute to annual budget process.
Senior Accountant Qualifications:
  • BS in Accounting or related field (business)
  • 2+ years of accounting experience – preferable general ledger accounting experience including journal entries, bank reconciliations, other account analysis
  • Fast learner, ability to comfortably work in a deadline-oriented environment
  • Intermediate/advanced experience with Microsoft Excel such as pivot tables, V look-ups and indexing
  • Public accounting or accounting in a real estate development, property management, or hospitality industries a plus, not required
  • CPA or CPA candidate, ideal not required
  • Ability to thrive in a high volume environment (150 bank recs/month, 500 journal entries/month and 200 account reconciliations/month)
Candidates must be able to pass a drug screen and background investigation.
