Cordia is partnered with a high-precision manufacturing company who is seeking a Payroll Accountant on a 3-4 month contract basis.
Title: Payroll Specialist
Location: Bethesda, MD
Hourly Rate: $25.00 - $30.00/hour
Job Type: 3-4 Month Contract
Key Responsibilities:
- Process payroll for all employees on a regular basis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to payroll, including tax withholdings, social security contributions, and other deductions
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee payroll records, including salaries, bonuses, and other compensation
- Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and compensation in a timely and professional manner
- Reconcile payroll accounts, prepare payroll reports, and assist with year-end payroll activities
- Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll
- Keep up-to-date with changes in payroll laws and regulations and adjust payroll processes accordingly
- Continuously improve payroll processes to increase efficiency and accuracy
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience in payroll processing and administration
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations, including tax withholdings, social security contributions, and other deductions
- Experience using payroll software and other HR information systems
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
