Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Property Accountant to join one of our TOP clients. The Property Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial operations of our real estate properties, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for assigned properties.
    • Ensure all financial reports are accurate, complete, and submitted in a timely manner.
    • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts for assigned properties.
    • Post journal entries and perform month-end and year-end closings.
    • Process invoices, payments, and receipts.
    • Monitor and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable.
    • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
    • Monitor budget variances and provide explanations for significant differences.
    • Manage tenant billing, including rent, common area maintenance (CAM) charges, and other related fees.
    • Reconcile tenant accounts and address discrepancies.
    • Perform financial analysis and prepare reports to support management decision-making.
    • Analyze property performance metrics and provide recommendations for improvements.
    • Work closely with property managers, leasing agents, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate financial management of properties.
    • Utilize property management and accounting software effectively.
    • Continuously improve accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in property management or real estate.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
