Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the tax department operations, including staff supervision, workflow management, and client relations.
- Review and, when necessary, prepare complex individual, business, trust, and estate tax returns.
- Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Serve as the primary expert in CCH tax software, training staff and optimizing its use within the firm.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement tax strategies that align with client financial goals.
- Assist in managing the firm’s growth by streamlining processes and improving efficiencies within the tax department.
- Conduct tax research to resolve complex tax issues for clients.
- Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, ensuring ongoing professional development.
- Participate in business development efforts, helping to attract new clients and retain existing relationships.
Qualifications:
- CPA designation required.
- 10+ years of experience in tax planning, preparation, and review.
- Extensive knowledge of CCH tax software is essential.
- Proven leadership and staff management experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax matters to clients.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
