Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is partnered with an outdoor power-equipment company who is seeking a proactive and hands-on Interim Controller to join their team on a 3-4 month contract basis with the potential for contract-to-hire. Our client was recently acquired and requires a skilled Controller to manage and streamline financial operations.

Title: Interim Controller
Location: Upper Marlboro, MD
Start Date: Immediate
Duration: 3-4 months, with potential for permanent hire
Hourly Rate: Competitive market rate
Job Type: Interim role with potential for permanent hire

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct a thorough review of accounting records and manage day-to-day accounting operations.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Report financials to the parent company.
  • Develop, improve, and implement accounting workflows and processes.
  • Work closely with the team, including a strong accountant, an office manager, and an HR representative handling payroll.
  • Navigate the transition from QuickBooks to Infinity, ensuring smooth system integration.
  • Provide hands-on support and be directly involved in the details of the work.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Controller role.
  • Strong systems experience; familiarity with Infinity is a plus but not required.
  • Experience in sales and distribution is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and improve accounting workflows and processes.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and priorities.
  • Willingness to work onsite 5 days a week in Upper Marlboro, MD.
