Cordia Resources is currently working with a large Washington, DC based nonprofit. Our client is seeking an experienced Senior GL Accountant with at least 5 years of accounting experience preferably in nonprofit. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with a wide range of financial duties including A/P, A/R, payroll, bank reconciliations, general ledger journal entries, and reconciliations and receipts processing.

This is a hybrid role: 2 days in office, 3 days remote with yearly compensation in the range of $80k-$90k

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business or equivalent practical experience
CPA certification or equivalent preferred but not required
At least 5 years of accounting experience preferably in Non-profit
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and a quick-learner
Working experience of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other Accounting standards Strong financial analysis skills Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Strong organizational and stress management skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel (Advanced skills are required) SAP and IBM Cognos experience is preferred but not required Ability to train other staff members Ability to work with little to no supervision

Responsibilities
Perform month-end close processes, including agreement review, and preparing/posting journal entries including; ASC 606 Revenue Recognition & Corporate tax accruals
Reconcile accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and alert the senior management if necessary
Partner with Technology and other cross-business departments to define, establish and implement accounting system and accurate reporting
Coordinate annual audit and assist the director of Finance in running audits
Assist with annual IRS 990 form preparation
Assisting in the design and preparation of budgets for review by management
Have ownership and accountability for accuracy, timeliness, effectiveness, and efficiency of all tasks assigned Assist other team members when needed
