Cordia Resources is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Payroll Specialist to join the team at a growing organization! In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with regulations, and continuous process improvements. Key Responsibilities:
Process and review payroll for 1000+ employees across multiple locations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Manage payroll tax filings, deductions, and garnishments while ensuring timely payments.
Maintain and update payroll records, including earnings, deductions, benefits, and direct deposits.
Work closely with HR and Finance teams to ensure payroll aligns with company policies and labor laws.
Resolve payroll discrepancies, investigate errors, and implement corrective actions.
Prepare and analyze payroll reports for audits, compliance checks, and internal reviews.
Assist in system upgrades, testing, and implementation of new payroll software or processes.
Stay up-to-date with payroll laws, tax regulations, and industry best practices.
Provide guidance and support to junior payroll staff as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in a senior or lead role.
Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Workday, Paycom, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
Experience handling multi-state payroll and union payroll is a plus.
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
Strong analytical and communication skills.
