Accounting Manager 16624131

Our client is a $150m Tech company in the DC metro area looking to add an Accounting Manager to their team. This role will be crucial in ensuring that our client's global affiliates conduct transactions and maintain their financial records in compliance with US GAAP. This role will be fully remote (occasionally having to go in office 1-2 days a month) and report into an awesome Controller. Salary for this role will be around $140k + bonus.

Responsibilities

Financial Accounting

  • Maintain accounting records in compliance with US GAAP.
  • Review and approve monthly journal entries and related documentation, posting them in NetSuite.
  • Evaluate monthly account reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy of account balances, and promptly resolve any discrepancies.
  • Work with other Accounting Managers and the Director of Accounting to develop closing schedules and procedures, addressing issues that affect the timeliness and reliability of financial results.
  • Document processes for handling transactions in compliance with US GAAP.

Projects and People Management

  • Collaborate on the design and testing of process improvements, automation, and enhancements in NetSuite.
  • Provide support for ad hoc analyses as required by global teams, including Senior Management, Treasury, Tax, FP&A, Legal, and HR.
  • Set and monitor staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, establish objectives and priorities, and conduct annual performance reviews. Foster a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and quality.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • US Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Preferably with experience from Big 4 firms (Deloitte, EY, KPMG, or PWC); public accounting experience is required
  • Over 3 years of experience after public accounting
  • Proficiency in NetSuite ERP
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience in the software industry, particularly in development and SAAS
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements
  • Experience in a multinational company environment, with effective collaboration with international colleagues
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
