Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is partnered with a high-growth research & development company who is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their dynamic team. The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close accounting processes, including preparation and review of financial statements for both consolidated and non-consolidated legal entities. This position involves ensuring the accuracy of journal entries and account reconciliations, particularly in areas such as cash, leases, fixed assets, and debt.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage monthly cash, lease, and debt accounting; review journal entries for accuracy.
- Review and validate monthly account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and explain financial variances.
- Collaborate with purchasing to manage unvouchered liabilities and ensure accurate reporting.
- Contribute to the development and monitoring of staff performance goals and priorities.
- Oversee JDE fixed asset accounting processes in accordance with company policy and US GAAP.
- Ensure balance between fixed asset sub-ledger and general ledger.
- Review debt compliance schedules for accuracy and adherence to loan documentation.
- Collaborate with the General Ledger Team to optimize closing schedules and procedures.
- Assist with year-end audit preparation, ad hoc reporting, and financial analyses.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- Minimum 4 years of accounting experience; supervisory experience is a plus.
- Experience with JD Edwards ERP preferred.
- CPA preferred but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of GAAP and ability to adhere to accounting policies.
- Proficiency in financial ERP systems and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
