This role is on a temp-to-perm basis, offering the opportunity to transition into a permanent position. As the Interim Controller, you will oversee a team of 4-5 professionals and ensure the seamless financial operations of our client’s organization.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and mentor a team of 4-5 finance professionals.
- Oversee full-cycle accounting and ensure compliance with internal controls.
- Work closely with partners for reporting and results analysis.
- Collaborate with the company President on traditional compliance and reporting of actuals.
- Support our CPA firm during financial reviews.
- Conduct thorough reviews of payroll processes.
- Produce clean financial statements and manage general ledger upkeep.
- Proven experience as a Controller role.
- Solid accounting expertise and able to handle day to day accounting functions
- Strong systems proficiency and ability to quickly learn new systems.
- Experience in professional services, including engineering or architecture, is preferred.
- Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills including strategic consideration and thinking about the future.
- Ability to work onsite 5 days a week in Washington, DC.
- Demonstrated success in managing and developing finance teams.
- Strong communication skills, capable of working with senior leadership.
- Working partners for reporting and analysis.
- Collaborate with company President on actuals reporting.
- Support CPA firm during financial reviews.
- Payroll review and management.
