Senior Accountant (Project Set Up)-Government Contracting

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant with deep experience in project setup and contract accounting. This role will be instrumental in ensuring accurate project setup, managing contract modifications, and supporting monthly close and account reconciliation processes. Costpoint experience is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform project setup in accordance with contract terms, including proper alignment of billing, funding, and revenue recognition requirements.
Manage contract modifications, including change orders and funding adjustments, ensuring accurate financial treatment and documentation.
Support the monthly close process, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Collaborate with project managers, contracts, and billing teams to ensure accurate and timely project financial data.
Maintain compliance with internal controls, policies, and applicable accounting standards.
Qualifications:
5+ years of accounting experience, including significant experience in project accounting.
Strong experience with project setup required.
Deltek Costpoint experience is required.
Experience in government contracting or services-based industries preferred.
Knowledge of revenue recognition principles and accounting for various contract types (T&M, CPFF, FFP, etc.).
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
