Ashburn, VACordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is partnered with an information technology and cybersecurity company that primarily serves government and enterprise clients, who is seeking seasoned Controller level consultant to support their accounting team. This is contract role, where you will support the Controller and work with the accounting team. This is a hybrid role requiring 3-4 days in office in Ashburn, Virginia.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support Controller in any requested duties.
- Provide month-end close oversight to the accounting team.
- Oversee full-cycle accounting and ensure compliance with internal controls.
- Work closely with the Controller for reporting and results analysis.
- Review work of Payroll Manager.
- Journal entry and account reconciliation review.
- Produce clean financial statements and manage general ledger upkeep.
- Review revenue calculation for completeness and compliance with ASC 606.
- Month-end reviews and variance analysis.
- Strong accounting background, ideally a former Controller.
- Govcon experience preferred but not required.
- Use of Costpoint preferred but not required.
- Solid accounting expertise and able to handle day to day accounting functions
- Strong systems proficiency and ability to quickly learn new systems.
- Experience with revenue recognition (ASC 606) is a plus.
- SEC filing experience also a plus but not required.
- Strong communication skills, capable of working with senior leadership.
