Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager
Gaithersburg, MDCordia Resources is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager. This is a hands-on role responsible for all in-house accounting functions. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing the full accounting cycle independently. Experience in the construction industry and with QuickBooks is required.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all day-to-day accounting operations, including:
- Month-end close
- Accounts payable (A/P)
- Accounts receivable (A/R)
- Payroll processing
- Bank reconciliations
- Oversee and maintain the general ledger
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports
- Handle job costing and project-level accounting
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations
- Coordinate with external CPA for tax preparation and annual audits
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls and accounting processes
- Provide financial insights and support to leadership for strategic decision-making
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience
- Construction industry experience is required
- QuickBooks experience is required
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Experience with job costing in a construction setting
- Prior experience as a sole accountant or in a small accounting team
- Familiarity with payroll and HR compliance in construction
