Position Summary: The Accountant will be responsible for performing key accounting functions including journal entries, reconciliations, financial analysis, and month-end close processes. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the mortgage industry and a thorough understanding of ICFR, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and contributing to a robust internal control environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily and monthly accounting activities including general ledger, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
Ensure compliance with ICFR by maintaining, testing, and documenting internal controls.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits and regulatory reviews.
Analyze financial data and provide insights to support business decisions.
Assist in the preparation of regulatory filings related to mortgage operations.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to financial systems and internal controls.
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CPA candidate preferred).
Minimum of 3–5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in the mortgage or financial services industry.
Solid understanding of mortgage accounting principles and regulatory reporting requirements.
Proven experience with ICFR implementation, testing, and compliance.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
