Interim Non-profit Controller
Washington, DCCordia Resources is seeking an experienced Interim Controller to provide hands-on financial leadership and operational support during a period of transition. This role will oversee core accounting functions—including accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end close, and financial reporting—while also contributing to financial planning and analysis (FP&A) activities. The ideal candidate brings nonprofit expertise, strong analytical skills, and a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, and general ledger management
- Lead and execute the month-end close process and prepare accurate and timely financial statements
- Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, fund accounting)
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Prepare financial reports and dashboards for executive leadership and board presentations
- Assist with grant reporting, donor reporting, and audit preparation as needed
- Collaborate cross-functionally with program, development, and administrative teams
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
- Proven experience as a controller or senior finance leader in the nonprofit sector
- Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting principles and fund accounting
- Experience with financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct, or similar) and Excel
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and provide strategic financial insights
