Cordia Resources is partnered with an established $300M in revenue construction/commercial general contractor who is seeking an entrepreneurial Controller, who can roll up their sleeves and manage the day-to-day accounting operations of the company, including month end close, preparing financial statements, working with outside auditors, and partnering directly with company management.

The ideal candidate has experience within the construction industry (SAGE 300 software), ability to lay out strong policies, procedures, processes, and a proven track record in daily accounting/finance operations. This is a perfect role for someone who wants a highly visible (direct access to COO and CEO) role with the ability to put their stamp on an already reputable organization primed for exciting growth.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
Manage the month-end close process, including reconciliation and preparation of financial statements.
Prepare and present financial statements and reports to company management, including the COO and CEO.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results to stakeholders.
Work with outside auditors to facilitate the audit process and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Develop and implement strong accounting policies, procedures, and processes to enhance operational efficiency.
Utilize SAGE 300 software for accounting operations and financial reporting.
Partner directly with company management to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
Serve as a key leader within the organization, providing financial expertise and contributing to the company's growth and success.
Requirements:
Proven track record in daily accounting and finance operations, preferably within the construction industry.
Familiarity with SAGE 300 software is highly desirable.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or advanced degree is a plus.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
Excellent communication skills for interfacing with senior management and external auditors.
Ability to take initiative and work independently in a dynamic and flexible work environment.
Demonstrated ability to lead and influence within an organization.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and operations.
