Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is helping one of our top clients who is seeking an experienced Interim Controller to join their team on a 2–3-month contract basis. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring seamless operational continuity during a key transition period when their current Controller leaves. Title: Interim Controller Location: Remote but must be in Wash DC area with ability to attend periodic in-person meetings Hourly Rate: $75.00 - $85.00/hour Job Type: Contract (2-3 months)
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, monthly close, reconciliations, AP/AR oversight, and commission processing.
Supervise a small accounting team, includes 2 staff in Philippines.
Collaborate with leadership on budgeting, cash flow, and financial performance reporting.
Assist in system optimization for recent transition from QuickBooks to NetSuite.
Develop and implement SOPs to support scalable financial operations.
Serve as a liaison between executive leadership and accounting staff, providing mentorship and accountability.
Qualifications:
CPA preferred.
Strong hands-on accounting expertise.
Proven experience in leading accounting teams and improving processes.
Mandatory proficiency with NetSuite.
Experience in managing commissions accounting is preferred.
Comfortable working in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
Potential for long-term growth into more responsible roles.
