Location: 100% Remote (Must be located within the United States)

Compensation: $80-$90/hour during the contract phase, $150,000 annually upon conversion to permanent

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to join our Software Engineering department. In this remote, contract-to-hire role, you will be responsible for managing and evolving our cloud infrastructure, ensuring it is secure, scalable, and efficient. You will maintain existing Azure environments and architect new solutions as business needs grow and change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor, maintain, and optimize Azure cloud environments for performance, reliability, and security.
- Design and implement new cloud infrastructure based on project and organizational needs.
- Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to define cloud architecture and operational requirements.
- Develop infrastructure-as-code solutions using tools like ARM templates.
- Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
- Stay current with Azure updates and recommend strategic improvements.
- Support incident response and participate in on-call rotations as needed.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure cloud engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Azure services (e.g., VMs, Networking, Storage, Azure AD, Monitoring).
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Solid understanding of networking, identity management, and cloud security.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience with DevOps tools and practices, such as Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
- Familiarity with container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes (AKS).
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate, DevOps Engineer Expert) are a plus.
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments or cloud migration projects.
- Exposure to compliance frameworks and secure cloud design.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented, with a proactive and ownership-driven mindset.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently.
