Senior Director, Treasury & Tax

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this is a highly unique opportunity to shape the treasury and tax strategy for our global professional services client, located in the DC/Baltimore/Richmond Region. 

This role boasts a very flexible remote vs. in-office schedule, but we are seeking local candidates.   

The Senior Director, Treasury and Tax will lead global cash management, funding strategies, tax planning, and compliance for a fast-growing professional services firm operating in 20+ countries. He/she will optimize capital structure, minimizing tax liabilities, ensuring compliance, and enabling scalable financial operations across jurisdictions.

 

Experience Overview

 

Treasury Leadership

  • Develop and execute global cash management and liquidity strategies to optimize working capital and minimize cost of capital.

  • Oversee global banking relationships, cash pooling, FX risk, and debt management.

  • Monitor and manage short-term and long-term financing needs; oversee intercompany financing and funding flows.

  • Implement and manage treasury technology, controls, and best practices.

Tax Strategy and Compliance

  • Lead global tax planning and strategy to align with business goals while managing risk and ensuring compliance.

  • Oversee direct and indirect tax compliance, including corporate income tax, VAT/GST, and transfer pricing documentation across all jurisdictions.

  • Manage global tax audits and disputes.

  • Stay current on global tax legislation and assess the impact on the business.

Leadership and Partnership

  • Build and lead a high-performing treasury and tax team across regions.

  • Partner with FP&A, Accounting, Legal, and local finance teams to support cross-functional initiatives.

  • Provide strategic advice to the CFO and executive team on treasury and tax implications of business decisions, including M&A, entity structuring, and market expansions.

 


Qualifications/Preferences

  • BS/BA in Finance or Accounting

  • MBA, CPA or Master’s in Taxation preferred.

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in treasury and tax preferred

  • 5 years in a leadership role required

  • Prior experience in a global, multi-entity environment, ideally within professional services or asset-light industries.

  • Private equity experience preferred.

  • Strong technical knowledge of global tax regulations, transfer pricing, and treasury operations.

  • Proven ability to operate strategically and tactically in a dynamic, fast-paced global business.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

 


Additional Skills & Experience

  • Treasury management systems/implementation

  • Tax technology analysis and tools.

  • Familiarity with international tax structuring, BEPS, and OECD guidelines.

 

Compensation Range = $200,000 - $225,000 DOE + annual target bonus and other incentives
