Position Title: Production Test Technician
Home Office Location: Chantilly, VA
Position Summary:
The Production Test Technician plays a crucial role in performing functional, operational, and space environmental tests to ensure production assemblies are reliable and ready for deployment in Space Satellites. This position is part of a team dedicated to delivering high-performance, space-based electronic systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow detailed written instructions to execute tasks consistently and reliably.
- Set up and dismantle testing work areas using basic electro-mechanical skills.
- Determine test outcomes, record results accurately, and escalate issues as needed.
- Suggest improvements to test procedures and processes.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects.
- Utilize various meters and tools, including multimeters and signal generators.
- Work effectively in a team-based production environment where precise and complete work is essential for the next process step.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma (or equivalent) with 4 years of related experience OR 2 years of related experience with an associate’s degree.
- Experience handling electronics or printed circuit assemblies and conducting electrical tests.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new/proprietary software quickly.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
- Basic proficiency in using computer software, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to manage time effectively and complete all assigned tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's or Vocational degree in Electrical Technology or similar field. Equivalent experience with testing required.
Physical Requirements:
- Occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
Working Conditions:
- ESD production environment with some exposure to machine noise; hearing protection may be required.
- Overtime may be necessary to meet project needs.
