Software Architect – Ground Systems & Mission Operations

Key Responsibilities
- Architect, prototype, and maintain software systems that automate satellite operations, including mission scheduling, telemetry processing, and anomaly response.
- Design scalable, event-driven microservices and interfaces across the ground segment, including command, control, and communications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and performance.
- Implement DevOps practices to support continuous integration, testing, and deployment of mission-critical services.
- Contribute to the evolution of the company’s software framework with innovative features tailored to unique mission requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 8+ years of experience developing highly available web services using server-side scripting languages (Python preferred).
- Proven experience in automating space or aerospace operations.
- Strong foundation in software architecture, microservices, interface design, and automated testing.
- 4+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated build/test systems.
- Proficiency with relational databases (Postgres preferred).
- Solid understanding of cloud security, access control, and identity management.
- Experience with containerized services (Docker/Kubernetes).
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance or recent read-in.
- Experience designing APIs using Swagger/OpenAPI.
- Background in R&D environments, prototyping, and systems engineering.
- Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring tools and best practices.
