Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is partnered with a dynamic and mission-driven nonprofit organization, is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead their financial operations. The organization is a prominent $90M 501(c)(3) with a strong balance sheet and diverse business lines. With plans for significant growth and a recent implementation of a new software system, this is a unique opportunity to drive financial strategy and innovation within a well-respected organization.

Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Location: Richmond, VA (Hybrid)
Salary: $275,000 - $300,000 base salary, plus bonus, plus deferred comp 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead all financial matters, including reporting, budgeting, accounting, and planning across the organization and its subsidiaries.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and goals.
  • Oversee financial reporting, ensuring compliance with ethical standards and organizational policies.
  • Manage a dedicated team of four, including a recently placed Controller.
  • Develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the CEO and leadership team.
  • Serve as liaison to the board of directors and various committees, engaging in strategic planning and financial oversight.
  • Optimize banking relationships and financial strategies to enhance cash positions and manage organizational risk.
  • Mentor and develop direct reports, fostering a dynamic and effective team environment.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • Proven experience and track record in a senior financial role (VP, CFO, etc.)
  • Manufacturing industry experience with strong knowledge of margin analysis and business process segmentation, highly preferred
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment based in or near Richmond, VA, with potential relocation support.
  • Strong leadership skills and a collaborative approach to working with executive teams and Boards.
  • Experience with financial systems, particularly Microsoft Business Central, is a plus.
