Summary:
Coordinates daily benefits processing in regard to enrollments, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims.




Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides customer service support to internal and external customers.
  • Processes and tracks FMLA and ADA related claims for assigned areas and assists with ongoing FMLA/ADA training of managers.
  • Prepares offer letters and runs background checks for store managers.
  • Acts as employment and wage verification coordinator. Works with others in HR to ensure timely completion of wage and employment verification requests.
  • Assists with maintenance of employee benefit files and updating of employee payroll records.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable government regulations.
  • Distributes summary plan descriptions, materials for new hire orientations and open enrollment.
  • Manages several complex projects simultaneously while working to meet deadlines.
  • Communicates effectively with co-workers and store employees regarding company policies and procedures related to benefit programs.
  • Acts as unemployment claim coordinator. Gathers information and prepares paperwork for unemployment responses and hearings. Assists HR Generalist with preparation for unemployment hearings.
  • Processes employee terminations and new hires as it relates to benefit enrollment.
  • Responsible for maintaining benefits related filing system.
  • Responsible for monthly ACA compliance mailing and email notifications to FGO newly eligible population.

Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED is required. College degree in HR related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements both adopted and pending affecting employee benefit programs, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, SECTION 125, Worker’s Compensation, Medicare, and Social Security and DOL requirements.
  • A strong knowledge of Affordable Care Act legislation is preferred.
  • Three+ years related benefits or employee benefits administration experience required.
  • Project and team management/leadership skills and experience are preferred.
  • Must have a proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates.
