Position: Interim Controller
Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid: 2-3 days in-office per week)

Are you a seasoned financial professional with a passion for nonprofit work? We are seeking a hands-on Interim Controller for a 3+ month project with a reputable nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing health programs through philanthropy. This role is crucial for managing financial operations and ensuring the accuracy of financial statements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the production and accuracy of financial statements.
  • Maintain and manage the accounting system.
  • Lead the annual budget development and presentation to the board.
  • Ensure accurate payroll production and vendor payments.
  • Manage tax and administrative filings with relevant authorities.
  • Establish banking relationships and manage bank accounts.
  • Serve as a liaison to the Finance Committee and report on financial operations.
  • Manage external audits and communicate with the audit firm.

Qualifications:

  • CPA designation preferred.
  • Experience in nonprofit financial management.
  • Familiarity with Business Central is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

Compensation: $70-$75 per hour (potentially higher for the right candidate)
Note: This is a temporary role for 2-3 months and will not convert to a full-time position.
