Controller

Working with a reputable, growing North Miami-area retail co./manufacturer on a new Controller opportunity.  He/she will manage accounting staff, be the face of the accounting strategy, and work to provide high-quality communication and process with and for the accounting team. 

Important for this individual to be hands-on, an excellent communicator, act professionally, and be able to communicate with executives, stakeholders, office workers, laborers and factory staff. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and mentor a team of 3 (Sr. Acct, Staff Acct, and Accounts Payable Clerk).
• Oversee full-cycle accounting and ensure compliance with internal controls.
• Heavy inventory focus and percentage of completion for revenue recognition and cost accounting.
• Financial reporting and analysis
• Cash flow management and forecasting
• Manage procurement and relationships with vendors

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an accounting leader in some capacity.
• Solid accounting expertise and able to handle day to day accounting functions. CPA license is preferred.
• Manufacturing industry experience is preferred
• Strong systems proficiency and ability to quickly learn new systems. 
• Strong Excel expertise is required.
• Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills including strategic consideration and thinking about the future.
• Ability to work onsite four (4) days a week in North Miami, FL.
• Demonstrated success in managing and developing finance teams.
• Strong communication skills, capable of working with a team-minded approach and with senior leadership.
   

Compensation is $140-170k depending on training, experience and credentials.
