Senior Business Systems Analyst – General Accounting

Location: Silver Spring, MD (Tech Hill area)
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote)
Salary Range: $85,000–$142,000

About the Role

A leading healthcare organization is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst to join its General Accounting team. This is a strategic position supporting the transition from PeopleSoft to Workday, with a major system implementation scheduled for July 2026. The successful candidate will play a key role in system management, training, technical support, and data analytics/reporting for a large accounting team.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee configuration, implementation, and maintenance of financial information systems
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop business requirements, document workflows, and design solutions
• Lead system testing, user acceptance, and quality assurance processes
• Establish KPIs and metrics to support business decisions and validate solutions
• Act as IT liaison for resolving system and reporting issues
• Develop training materials and support post-implementation activities
• Manage system access and reporting controls
• Gather, analyze, and visualize data to produce actionable reports and dashboards
• Ensure data integrity through quality control, reconciliation, and routine audits

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, IT, Data Analytics, or related field (required)
• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience supporting financial systems and business analytics
• Significant hands-on experience with Workday (required)
• Strong understanding of the accounting cycle and experience with GL, AP, and Payroll functions
• Experience with system management, troubleshooting, and supporting transitions between ERP platforms
