Project Accountant Description/Job Summary:

Responsibilities/Duties
Our client is seeking a Project Accountant with at least 2 years of cost and/or commercial construction accounting experience. This individual will handle the job costing of selected company projects, related subcontracts and vendors. This position reports to the Senior Project Accountant.

Job Cost
• Analyze and process owner change orders, back charges, award analysis in Procore/Sage 300.
• Analyze and import commitments and subcontract change orders from Procore into Sage 300.
• Analyze monthly Procore cost to complete reports.
• Prepare & distribute all monthly job cost reports to the Project Managers
• Prepare the close out package for all completed jobs.
• Prepare direct cost entries, as needed.
• Assisting with strategic planning/forecasting of project financials.
• Review Owner contracts to understand accounting requirements.

Accounts Receivable
• Enter and analyze monthly owner requisitions (accounts receivable, retainage receivable and contract revenue) into Sage 300/Procore.
• Enter job-related and miscellaneous cash receipts into Sage 300/Procore.

Accounts Payable
• Analyze and process the Procore subcontractor invoicing.
• Review for compliance

Other
• Review Subcontractor Certificates of Insurance & request documents as needed
• File/scan all project related documentation into Procore and network drive, as needed.
• Train project managers on how to read and use Procore and Sage 300 job cost reports, train on the usage of Procore system and preparation of accounting forms.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: We are looking for a flexible, detail-oriented team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines. The successful candidate will possess:
•Excellent listening skills and strong oral and written communication skills.
•The ability to identify, analyze and resolve complex issues.
•Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office applications and in accounting cost management software
•3+ years of experience as a cost accountant, preferably within the construction Industry.
•Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field or CCIFP preferred, however not required
•A strong work ethic and a “can-do anything” attitude.
