Configuration Management Lead (ServiceNow)

Our client is currently seeking a Configuration Management Lead to join our growing team. This Configuration Management Lead to be a part of an innovative and collaborative technology team.

The position

  • Maintain and update the configuration management model and shall develop a configuration management framework, plan, SOPs, and related processes
  • Ability to establish and/or maintain a system to record modifications to hardware, software or documentation.
  • Ability to maintain allocated, functional and physical baseline control and ability to perform audit support.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to provide configuration baseline control throughout the lifecycle of highly complex information systems as well as component software and hardware elements.
  • Works closely with quality assurance and management representatives to ensure accurate and well-documented product baseline.
  • Prepares directives for change authorization and implementation
  • Develop/maintain appropriate tools to monitor configuration management processes and report trends and issues.
  • Propose corrective actions required to improve processes.
  • Provide training to internal or external stakeholders as needed to improve awareness of, and compliance with, configuration management procedures.
  • Identify configuration items, related information and data required to effectively provide configuration management services and support.
  • Maintain and update the taxonomy for how artifacts are stored and referenced.
  • Identify the configuration items, components, and that will be placed under configuration and maintain and update the identified system inventories. This includes defining descriptions for each configuration item as well as documenting dependencies to ensure accurate and meaningful audits of configuration management, validity of dependencies, identification of risks, management of changes and risk.
  • Maintain and update standard for how versions of configuration items are determined, when and which versions can be used or made available.
  • Establish and refine metadata structure/taxonomy for configuration management information and data.
  • Enhance, operate and maintain CM system/tools and interfaces with other tools. Identify and implement opportunities to (continuously) improve

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in any business field or Information Technology related field
  • 5 -7 years of relevant Configuration Management experience
  • 5 Years of Experience with minimum 5 years of combined experience with implementation of CMDB, Service Mapping, Change and release, and other ITSM modules in ServiceNow.
  • Required Certifications:
    • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Service Mapping
    • Certified Implementation Specialist – Discovery
    • Micro Certification – Configure the CMDB
    • Micro Certification – CMDB Health
    • ITIL 4 Foundation certification
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Expert in the Microsoft Office suite of products including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Experience with CM Audit procedures, CI Update procedures, and CR Impact Assessment procedures.
  • Proven knowledge of formal change control processes.
  • Knowledge of principles, methods, and techniques used in configuration management board support.
