Senior Property Accountant ($80k-$100k + 10% Bonus)

Our client, a renowned real estate leader with over 35 years in the Washington D.C. Metro area and managing 350+ properties focused on vibrant community spaces. Expanding from 15 to 100+ employees in the last decade, the company excels in property management, development, and diverse investment strategies including JV and bank/PE partnerships. They’re seeking a Senior Property Accountant where you'll be integral in reshaping urban retail landscapes, offering a prime chance to advance your career in the dynamic real estate sector.

 

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial packages for owners; deliverables are due 10th, 15th, 20th, and 25th
• Analyze General Ledger activities for accuracy and determine if reclassification is needed
• Work closely with Project Managers regarding monthly and quarterly deliverables and journal entries reclassification
• Prepare monthly and quarterly lender compliance reports
• Prepare monthly and quarterly complex upper tier distribution schedules and portfolio distribution schedules
• Prepare and maintain Excel spreadsheet workbooks for the assigned portfolios
• Perform weekly and monthly bank reconciliation for each property in the assigned portfolio for weekly cash management reports and month-end close
• Perform monthly management fees calculation in MRI and Yardi Accounting System as well as Excel Spreadsheet calculation

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
• Commercial real estate background is a plus, as well as experience working with MRI, Yardi and NEXUS
• Must be a team player and flexible with competing priorities
