Senior Accountant/Manager

Title: Senior Accountant/ Manager
Compensation: 100K – 140K salary, plus discretionary bonus
Environment: Hybrid – Arlington, VA (Very flexible)


Our client, a growing Government Contracting firm with an excellent M&A track record, headquartered in the Arlington Virginia area, is seeking a Rockstar Accounting professional to join their dynamic accounting and finance team and support the organization's mission. The position is open due to growth and promotion within the team. Additionally, this key role will assist in a variety of aspects of operational and project technical accounting with the firm, including budgeting, general ledger preparation, compliance, cost accounting, intercompany transaction analysis, and audit readiness.

Senior Accountant/Manager Responsibilities:
  • Assist with technical accounting areas such as intercompany transaction analysis/research, purchase accounting, lease accounting, etc.
  • Develop monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Support payroll with the team when needed.
  • Set up new projects, mods, etc. Update for new hires, terms. Ensure the proper rates are in the accounting system for billing.
  • Prepare month-end adjusting journal entries – depreciation, prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, etc.
  • Develop the monthly financial package – balance sheet, profit and loss statement, AP aging, AR aging and statement of indirect expense (SIE)
  • Review financial package numbers for unusual variances.

Senior Accountant/Manager Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in accounting (or similar field)
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of basic GAAP and DCAA accounting principles.
  • At least 3 - 5 years direct experience in a GovCon environment or supporting GovCon clients in a Public Accounting environment. (Mix of both is preferred)
  • Deltek Costpoint experience required.
  • Understanding of DCAA, GSA and FAR as it relates to accounting.
