Manager of Financial Accounting

Manager of Financial Accounting opening for a $150M and rapidly growing Technology/Artificial Intelligence firm in Washington DC area! (Position is REMOTE, but must be local to the area-occasional meetings/training). This company is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Manager of Financial Accounting to join their growing finance team in the US. Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with US GAAP for their global affiliates. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of financial processes and systems as they continue to expand their operations.
Company and Position overview:
  • $150M + AI /Tech company – PE backed.  They are growing and have new product lines coming out soon.
  • CFO who is fantastic and easy to work with.
  • They have 17+ entities.
  • This position reports into the Chief Accounting Officer who we know very well-great leader/cares about staff and their growth
  • This position is responsible for the US GAAP accounting function, general ledger, month end closings
  • This will eventually mange 1-2 staff-and they will be part of the hiring process
  • They do not need to have a heavy technical accounting or compliance background as those functions are handled separately.
  • Prefer someone who has worked with international teams.
  • Exciting projects to work on which are coveted by most companies -creating SOPS, automating reconciliations, overhauling some finance processes etc..
  • Must be CPA and have NetSuite.  Pedigree, Public Corporate mix a plus
  • Remote-minus occasional in office visits-1x month or 1x every few months for meetings, trainings and get together.  Gorgeous office – ‘tech” feel, very modern.  Think sparkling water on tap and pantries stocked with snacks.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP in maintaining accounting records.
  • Review and approve monthly journal entries and account reconciliations in NetSuite.
  • Resolve account discrepancies and collaborate on closing schedules and procedures.
  • Document and standardize transaction processes in line with US GAAP.
  • Collaborate on NetSuite improvements and automation projects.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis for global teams, including Treasury, Tax, FP&A, and HR.
  • Manage and develop a team of 1-2 staff, participating in the hiring process.
  • Foster a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • US Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Experience with Big 4 accounting firms and public accounting
  • 3+ years of post-public experience
  • Proficiency in NetSuite ERP and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Background in the software industry, preferably in development and SAAS
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and process improvement initiatives
  • Experience working in a multinational company environment
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
