Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant Responsibilities:
  • Under limited supervision, but following established policies and procedures, is responsible for preparing and generating accurate financial reports for the Controller and/or Management and/or outside vendors, CPA’s and/or auditor
  • Prepare accounting entries and reconciliations for revenue and balance sheet accounts
  • Manage various data portals and pull together timely reporting to accurately prepare monthly revenue and cash entries
  • Write-up internal processes and procedures, standard operating practices, and accounting treatment narratives to provide clear and consistent documentation
  • Support audit requests for areas of responsibility
  • Identify areas for process improvements drive efficiency initiatives
  • Responds to questions and/or provides information upon request from clients, vendors, and internal staff
  • Performs a variety of complex and routine accounting related tasks

Senior Accountant Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Business discipline (Accounting, Finance, or related field)
  • 3+ years of work experience in full-cycle accounting or revenue recognition-focused accounting
  • CPA or CPA candidate highly preferred
  • Experience with general ledger accounting and the monthly close process
  • Experience with contract-based revenue recognition and billing (SaaS, Legal, GovCon experience or similar)
  • Thorough understanding and practice of ASC 606, Revenue from Contracts with Customers
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with all levels and departments within an organization
  • High level of attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to prioritize demands and meet deadlines
  • A positive and open-minded attitude with the ability to adapt and be flexible in a changing environment
  • Self-motivation and a desire to continually improve efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of processes
