Title: Senior Accountant
Base Annual Compensation: 90K to 115K
Work Environment: REMOTE

Job Description:
 
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the development and execution of accounting processes to support our client’s overall accounting function. This role will support a broad-spectrum accounting environment to include assisting with day-to-day bookkeeping responsibilities, internal control execution, drafting of technical accounting and policy documents, financial reporting procedures, and driving accounting process automation. The candidate selected for this opportunity will be responsible for delivering on key monthly and quarterly close duties and effectively communicating processes both internally with stakeholders and externally with vendors. The ability to stay organized and deliver on key accounting close milestones will be a critical success factor.
 
Responsibilities may include:
  • Driving efficiencies and automation across key accounting cycles such as payroll, procure to pay, and order to cash.
  • Tracking and reconciliation of various project/vendor costs
  • Performs maintenance of key accounting process tools and ensures project management boards are up to date.
  • Performs monitoring of accounting standards updates.
  • Assist in the preparation/drafting of monthly and quarterly financial disclosures, including performing an organized and detailed tie out to supporting documentation.
  • Work with SOX compliance specialists and external independent audit group to ensure efficient coordination of routine audit testing procedures.
  • Assist with Quarterly DOE audit compliance requirements such as grant fund and cost share tracking.
  • Preparation of quarterly disclosure checklists
  • Tracking and booking employee travel and expense reimbursements
  • Work across the business to support our accounting activity.
  • Strong networking and relationship building will be critical as successful candidate will have to work with government agencies such as the DOE as well as financial institutions.
  • Responsible for processing payments to vendors
  • Assist with the planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the organization’s accounting processes, including the identification and implementation of new accounting tools.
  • Develop credibility for the accounting function by delivering upon the monthly close timeline and helping deliver on key compliance requirements.
  • Participate in a variety of special accounting research projects and communicating findings to propose appropriate accounting treatment.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
  • Conform with all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Support the firm’s transition from QuickBooks to NetSuite

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business
  • Three to five years general accounting experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Big 4/ Public Accounting experience
  • CPA
  • Master’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Experience in fast paced growth environment
  • Experience with NetSuite and QuickBooks
  • Preferred location: U.S. Pacific, Central or Mountain Time
