Interim Director of Financial Reporting

Cordia Resources is seeking an interim Director of Financial Reporting to lead a team of three financial reporting staff. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of annual financial statements, compliance with financial regulations, and the development of key financial reports. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team of three financial reporting staff in preparing annual financial statements and responses to the Comptroller’s Directives.
  • Collect and review financial statements for related entities, ensuring proper reporting treatment.
  • Maintain awareness of financial reporting requirements set by GASB, DOA, and other external agencies to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain and monitor a master schedule listing all required financial tasks, due dates, and responsible personnel to ensure timely and accurate completion.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, providing guidance and ensuring timely completion of financial reports.
  • Perform first-level reviews of adjusting journal entries and oversee fund accounts, ensuring proper cash drawdowns.
  • Supervise and guide staff in maintaining the fixed asset database, reconciling transactions, and conducting annual physical inventories.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA, CGFM, or other relevant certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, or a related area.
  • Experience with GASB standards and financial statement preparation for government or higher education institutions is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in financial systems, reporting software, and Microsoft Excel.
