Position Description:
Our client is seeking a Financial Controller to help lead the company during an exciting growth period. This individual will provide leadership and direction to the accounting team and steer the control and close processes in partnership with AP, AR, tax, and audit. He/She/They will be the steward of our company's accounting and financial reporting. This role reports to the CFO and the ideal candidate possesses a strong work ethic and a stellar ability to partner with the business.

Responsibilities:
 
  • Mentor and lead a Senior Accounting Manager and two Senior Accountants.
  • Lead full-cycle accounting to yield accurate and timely month end close and reporting.
  • Maintain financial integrity by accounting for all movement of funds and reconciling all balances internally and externally.
  • Own the general ledger structure of the company and the financial books and ensure compliance with our accounting policies.
  • Help ensure our US and UK tax compliance.
  • Complete successful audits with our partners of the company's financial books to ensure good standing.
  • Successfully cultivate cross functional business partnerships by working closely with multiple leaders at the organization and providing meaningful recommendations that help the business scale while thinking through the key accounting and reporting requirements.
Qualifications/ Preferred Experience:
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • 10-12 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Knowledgeable on all aspects of GAAP, excellent technical accounting skills, and strong proficiency in revenue recognition.
  • Effective written and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build a positive, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work well with a senior management team as well as mentor/lead junior team members.
  • Comfort and experience with working in a startup organization, multi-tasking, learning quickly, problem-solving and rolling up your sleeves to get things done.
  • SaaS & Fintech/Payments experience.

Education/Certifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related fields.
