Interim Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager 16198356
Silver Spring, MDWe are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to assist us with a "catch up/clean up" project in preparation for the audit. This temporary position will be crucial in ensuring our financial records are accurate and up to date for a successful audit scheduled. The ideal candidate will have expertise in various accounting functions, including bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, general journal entries, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and audit readiness.

- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Conduct reconciliations of other balance sheet accounts, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
- Generate general journal entries in QuickBooks based on bank statements and other supporting documentation.
- Assist in the reconciliation and cleanup of accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Review payroll records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Collaborate closely with the accounting team to ensure all financial data is organized and prepared for the upcoming audit.
- Assist in creating and maintaining documentation required for audit readiness.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in accounting roles, with expertise in bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, general journal entries, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks or other relevant accounting software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while working on multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Understanding of audit processes and requirements.
