We are partnered with a prominent corporation who is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their general ledger team on a temp-to-hire basis. Title: Senior Accountant   
Pay Rate: $45.00 - $55.00/hour  
Position Location: Hybrid – Washington, DC
Job Type: Contract to Hire 
Start Date: Immediately

Experience using Deltek Costpoint highly preferred
  
Senior Accountant Responsibilities:  

• Prepare monthly journal entries
• Review monthly journal entries of junior staff to ensure monthly close is performed timely and accurately substantiated
• Prepare financial analyses and reports
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts
• Preparation of billings in accordance with contractual billing milestones
• Assist with annual audit preparations
• Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies and issues of non-compliance
• Contribute to the development of new or amended accounting systems, processes, and procedures
• Perform other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned

Senior Accountant Qualifications:  

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2-4 years of accounting experience preferred
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel
• Strong financial analysis skills
• Strong organizational and stress management skills
• Ability to train and manage staff
• Ability to work with little to no supervision
