Cordia is partnered with a $1M scientific research non-profit who is seeking an exceptionally bright, energetic individual to handle administrative duties in their Corporate headquarters. You will partner with employees from all parts of the enterprise to ensure that the office runs smoothly, and in parallel with company culture and business objectives. 

Title: Office Manager
Location: On-Site - Arlington, VA
Hourly Rate: $30.00 - $40.00/hour
Job Type: Contract (6-12 Months)

US Citizenship required

  • Join an effective administrative team; work with other highly capable administrative personnel located at other offices through-out the U.S.
  • Manage office supplies; stock, inventory and order adequate quantities to support office operations
  • Perform general clerical duties; photocopying, faxing, scanning, filing documents, and sorting mail
  • Escort visitors/vendors within the facility
  • Coordinate daily cleaning crew activities
  • Manage meetings; schedule, prepare rooms, order lunches and process visitors 
  • Creating shipping labels and scheduling shipment pickups
  • Organize office parties, morale/holiday events and outings
  • Initiate & track facility work orders; monitor status, request work orders, and escort maintenance staff
  • Assist with In-processing/out-processing actions; welcome new hires, provide HR documentation, check identification, assist with badge creation, conduct office orientation, and prepare office assignments
  • Be a key mechanism for communicating with assigned employees
  • Work with Automated Information Systems (AIS) staff, office, and facility professionals
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
  • Associate degree (or 3 additional years of equivalent experience)
  • 2 years of experience as an office manager or administrative assistant
  • Must be US citizen 
  • Ability to manage time, make sound decisions, take independent action, analyze problems, and provide focused solutions
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Energetic person with a desire to foster a positive, inclusive office environment
  • Ability to follow established processes and checklists
  • Must be willing to be "on site" every day
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
