Title: Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist
Location: Hybrid (2 days on-site) - Charlottesville, VA
Hourly Rate: $23.00 - $28.00/hour
Job Type: Contract with the potential for Contract to Hire
A minimum of 3 years of full-cycle AP experience is required!

Title: Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist

Primary Responsibilities:
- Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers and control petty cash spending
- Verify vendor accounts, pay vendors and resolve purchase order, invoice or payment discrepancies
- Issue purchase order amendments and stop payments
- Monitor payroll expense claims, including salary advances and overtime payments
- Reconcile account transactions with the general ledger
- Perform recordkeeping and prepare financial reports
- Keep informed of regulatory requirements and best practices in accounting
- High School Diploma
- Minimum 3 years full-cycle Accounts Payable experience
- Workday financial system experience (a plus, but not required)
- Salesforce experience (a plus, but not required)
- Higher Education Accounts Payable experience (a plus, but not required)
- Experience in high-volume, fast-paced working environments
- Intermediate knowledge in and experience with Purchase Orders (2-way & 3-way matching)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Quick learner with proven high critical thinking skills
- Detail oriented
- Excellent customer service skills
- Flexible and amenable to adjusting as needed in an ever-changing environment
